Pelikan is best known for its Souveran line of writing instruments. The Souveran line features fountain pens, mechanical pencils, roller ball pens and ball point pens in 5 sizes (300, 400, 600, 800 & 1000). The fountain and roller ball pens have black caps with a green-, blue- or red- striped or solid black barrel. The mechanical pencils and ball point pens feature black barrels with the top half of the writing instrument in green-, blue- or red-striped or solid black. Please note, however, some colors are not available in some sizes. For example, only the 400, 600 and 800 size pens are currently available in red-striped. All Souveran writing instruments have gold-plated clips & trim.

The fountain pens have piston-filling mechanisms and use bottled ink only. The pencils use .7 mm lead. The ballpoint pens accept Pelikan 337 and compatible refills. The roller ball pens accept Pelikan 338 refills.
